It was a beautiful and slightly hot day for the annual Chamber of Commerce Maniac Dam Race on Saturday, June 7, 2025. With many graduation activities happening, turnout was lower than past years. 76 people participated and medals were awarded in 9 categories.
Runners and walkers were treated to amazing views atop Dworshak Dam and Reservoir on the scenic Clearwater River. Participants left the starting line at exactly 10 am from the Viewpoint entrance to the Dam Visitor Center, led by the hometown mascot the Orofino Maniac. Racers were welcomed at the finish line with refreshments provided by Barney’s Harvest Foods and Hayes Foods of Orofino.
Many thanks to all the sponsoring partners in this event:
P1FCU Orofino and their entire crew that helped from start to finish. Donations from Clearwater Valley Health, the USACE Dworshak Project staff for allowing the event and helping set up, Clearwater County Sheriff’s staff for security and route safety, KLER Radio Jeff Jones for warm-up music and announcing, and the dedicated volunteers that assisted in putting the event together for a successful day of fun and fundraising.
The Clearwater County Chamber of Commerce appreciates the community support to continue their efforts toward countywide enhancement projects and for our local businesses’ success. We hope to see you at our next event. To find out more, follow us on social media or the chamber website at ClearwaterCountyAdventures.com
