The Clearwater County Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for Lumberjack Days and Clearwater County Fair with the return of our Chamber Beer Garden. Thanks to Julie Chenoweth, we will be located outside the Orofino City Park trestle entrance again. We will also have some new features, yard games! This is a fundraising event for the Chamber, with proceeds going to Countywide improvements to support tourism and our local businesses. We would love to see you there. Hours will be Thursday 5-8pm, Friday 4-10pm and Saturday 11am-10pm. If you would like to volunteer for a shift to serve or sell tickets, we have openings for a few 2-3 hours each. Member volunteers have an opportunity to promote their business and get to know the public better. Please give the Chamber a call, text or email. 208-476-4335 6cdirector@gmail.com This year we will join with ODOM (Coors) and Centennial (Budweiser) Distributors to bring a great variety of choices!

The Chamber has been working on new brochures and updating our displays with the Chamber logo. Thanks to Mike Tinsley of 3 Bear Burns, we now have new hand burned images for these. Locations of these are currently the Ponderosa, Helgeson Hotel, Presnell Gage and City of Orofino in the Economic Development Office. Soon we will be placing one in each of our Elk River, Pierce and Weippe locations, yet to be determined. If you are interested in placement, please contact us. Also, if you happen to have one of the original Orofino Chamber brochure or business card racks that need updated, let us know.

General Membership is meeting on September 7 in the Ponderosa Banquet room at Noon. Our agenda will be sent out with the minutes of the last meeting soon and anyone is welcome to attend. There is a no-host lunch with a “free meal” drawing. Our August meeting was held in Elk River at Tom’s Tavern and provided good discussions for all that turned out. Thank you to Diane Hairston for being there from Clearwater County Economic Development to share information and answer questions. Our chamber director also participated in the Elk River Days Parade with City Clerk, Christina Bartlett, giving out candy and our new Chamber Stickers. And during the Pierce 1860 Days fun, our Chamber hosted a “Rest and Refresh” station with shade, tables and free water for anyone who desired.

Bring your smile and any ideas or questions to the next event and join other members of your community. We look forward to seeing you!
