Well, we had our first light hanging volunteers come out on Nov 4th from 8am-noon. Twelve Idaho Youth ChalleNGe cadets, Dave Holland/Debco, Kim Johnson/Coleman Oil, Lyle Hendricks/Clearwater Cabin Rental, Dan Kiele & Terri Kiele/US Bank, and Warren and Andrew Campbell/Redoubt Surplus & Tactical helped the chamber director with cheerful attitudes and enthusiasm despite the cold rainy weather. I am beyond grateful for those that have come out to help!
Most did not expect to be treated to donuts, cookies, pizza and beverages, but all were very appreciative. If I am to thank people, I want to include them all.
We have a poster in design and should have it ready today. The festival and parade committee: myself, Lahni Ireland, Kim Johnson, Malia Erlewine, Emily Simmons, Matt Sartini, Ashley Steinbruecker, Lee Lira and BarbaraLee Jordan have decided on our Grand Claus’ and will be making an announcement soon. LCCU is heading up our parade again this year. ICIO Honor Guard will lead the parade followed by our own Clearwater Santa. P1FCU is handing out cookies and providing a game. Our live nativity group will be participating again also. We still have a few other things in the works that I can’t confirm, but it is shaping up to be a fun event. I hope December 1st brings a gathering of any and all who enjoy partaking in the cheer of the holiday with us.
I try to come up with the words to tell how much the community benefits from the colorful lights on display through the darkness of winter. But I can’t seem to find the right way to say that it only happens by the hands of those who step up to volunteer. I am always hopeful that the attendance will increase, but a little disappointed whenever it is just a few that do all the work.
If you have any words of wisdom for me, please share. I appreciate your commitment to this area through your hard work and dedication. You always have a smile and a kind word. You are awesome!
Respectfully,
—
