The Clearwater County Chamber of Commerce hosted the November General Membership meeting Happy Hour at the Ponderosa on Wednesday the 1st. The meetings are offered via zoom or in person, usually on the first Wednesday of the month. The Happy Hour at 4pm has been well attended this past year, with a few exceptions. Past President Ashley Steinbruecker called the meeting to order at 4:12pm. Chamber Director Erica Holland gave a financial report, event updates and reported on happenings over the past month. This meeting is held annually to nominate Chamber Board open positions for the coming year. At this time, there are two members who were appointed to fill vacancies in 2023. These members are Robert Meade of Weippe and Lahni Ireland of Orofino, who have agreed to remain if elected. Elections will be held at the Dec. 6, 2023 meeting. This will take place at Noon in the Ponderosa banquet room. If you have a nomination, please contact the director or President Malia Erlewine.

Director Holland attended ICORT (Idaho Conference on Recreation & Tourism) Oct 16-18 in Lewiston and reported many new connections were made with state and regional representatives. The information shared and gathered will be used toward future endeavours.  New members welcomed recently are the Elkhorn Tavern in Weippe and Healing Harvest Homestead in Orofino. OHS Homecoming was well supported by the community with many members decorating their businesses with Maniacs and balloons. Orofino Rotary Club hosted their fun run/walk, Big Canyon Acres held their Fall Fest and reported many new to the area and out of town visitors attended and Clearwater Valley Health hosted a documentary video at the Rex called My Ascension, aimed at suicide prevention. The Chamber continues to support the 988 hotline in this effort. Trick or Treat Rockin’ the Street Orofino was a great success with over 400 kids and parents attending. Thank you again to all of our businesses and organizations for participating!
