Nez Perce Clearwater National Forest – There are over 1400 miles of maintained trails for your enjoyment, open to hikers and stock. Many are open to mountain bikes, motorcycles and ATVs. This slice of outdoor paradise offers a wide variety of year-round recreational opportunities including snowshoeing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, camping, fishing, hiking and 4-wheeling with scenic beauty.


Dworshak Reservoir & Dam- A 19,000 acre water playground where boating, hiking, camping, hunting, fishing and the Visitor Center are just some of the many year-round activities. Seven boat ramps and numerous floating docks spread along the 184 miles of shoreline, as well as fueling facilities and moorage at Big Eddy Marina, provide for convenience and enjoyment.

Dent Bridge and Dent Acres- Cross the Dent Bridge 17 miles up the North Fork of the Clearwater River, over Dworshak Reservoir. This suspension bridge completed in 1971 is 140 feet tall, has a main span of 1,050 feet and overall length of 1,542 feet. This uncommon find in the middle of the wilderness, makes for spectacular photos. 50 sites available at the Dent Acres Park provide RV, camping and day use areas complete with boat ramp and playground. A reservation only group facility is also available for any occasion.

Clearwater River- Clear water and beautiful scenery perfect for days out on the many beaches, accessible from US Highway 12 or 7 and other trails from Greer to Ahsahka. Enjoy swimming, kayaking, fishing or a float trip that varies from seasonal water levels.

Orofino City & Park– Relax and enjoy the sun and shade of the city park. Alongside the Clearwater River, a great spot to spend the day. Whether building snowmen in the winter and visiting with Santa during the Christmas festival or eating lunch from the variety of to-go options available year-round or during the fair, it’s the perfect place to be. Also the setting of one of the best Firework’s displays available inland for a small community.

You will find an excellent resource in the employees at the office which can be contacted at the locations and times listed below. Or you can visit the Idaho Department Of Labor Website to search their online database.
