


The Purpose of the Pierce Recreation District
“Providing adequate recreation facilities for public benefit, use and purpose which enhances the value and quality of life and which materially assists in correcting or eliminating many social ills, such as delinquency, crime, excessive use of alcohol, drug abuse and discrimination.”
The Pierce Recreation District (“District”) was established in 1973 as a tax-supported governmental entity in the rural area of Pierce, Idaho, in accordance with Idaho Code Title 31, Chapter 43. After organization, the District assumed ownership of the newly-built Pierce Community Center & Pool facility. Since inception, the District has provided and maintained a full-range of quality facilities and programs focused on leisure, recreational and athletic activities for the residents of the District.
Per Idaho Code, the District Board of Directors (“Board”) consists of three (3) voting elected members, who oversee the management of the Pierce Community Center & Pool. The current Board members are:
- Darvin Nelson, President
- Cheryl Stenzel, Vice-President
- Melissa Brouwers, Member
The Community Center’s Gym and Game Room are open for all to use, at no cost, during regular open hours, provided there are no rentals or pre-scheduled activities utilizing the space.
