The Idaho Youth Challenge cadets assisted with the first weekend and were a great help in getting lights wrapped up the trees as far as possible. Tree tops are started and will continue through the next few weeks.

Youth Challenge Christmas Lights This year’s theme is “A Country Christmas” for the Old Fashioned Lighted Parade and Window Decorating contests. Please contact Orofino Lewis Clark Credit Union to register your entry in the parade. Window decorating can never start too soon! If you would like to participate in the contest please contact Erica at the Chamber by phone 208-476-4335 or email 6CDirector@gmail.com. Posters for the Festival will soon be printed and distributed. Plans are underway for Santa to arrive in time for the parade and stay to have photos in the gazebo after. The Live Nativity will also provide entertainment and atmosphere to the Orofino City Park once again! Avista will be in towns hanging lighted wreaths, snowflakes and lights on the Christmas Tree in Canon Park, as well. If you have a special talent or treat you would like to share with the community, please let Erica know. Let’s make this one of our best years!
Reserve the date to celebrate December 3rd. Parade entries will begin lining up behind the Idaho Correctional Institution Orofino Honor Guard at the corner of Michigan Ave and C Street down College Ave at 5pm. Parade begins at 6pm heading toward Johnson Ave and continues to 3rd Street for our residents at Brookside Landing to view. Participants will disperse then or continue to the city park for the Tree Lighting at 7pm. Spectators are encouraged to view along Michigan Ave above the City Park or at Canon Park for the official lighting and then continue to the City Park for a community social.
Some other activities will get us in the holiday spirit beforehand starting on November 20th. The Pierce Community Center Annual Holiday Bazaar and Orofino Senior Citizens Crafts & Bake Sale both happen from 9am-2pm Nov. 20th. The Bald Mountain Ski Sale & Swap will have two days of shopping Dec 3-4 from 7am-2pm at the Old Jr High Gym Orofino. Then on Dec 4 is the Annual Pierce Festival of Trees event from 5:30-8pm at the Pierce Community Center. Letters to Santa will be accepted again this year by the Chamber in various locations throughout the community too.

Merchant Open House and Shop Local events will be going on up until Christmas in our communities. Dates and locations will be announced in the coming weeks. Please visit our website at clearwatercountyadventures.com and our Meta fka Facebook page Clearwater County Chamber of Commerce for updates. The Chamber is excited for these community activities and wishes all our neighbors a bright and happy holiday season!”

I have also been asked when Merchants want to hold Open House days or Shop Local events. Please email this information to me at your earliest convenience, so I may include in the next article and share with community.
Thank you,
